Village of Myrnam

Home of the Dove - A Great Place to Call Home

Located at the junction of Highways 45 and 881, Myrnam is an active community with many opportunities for family recreation.

In Ukrainian, Myrnam means 'peace unto us', and the dove, representing peace, is the perfect symbol for the village, which was officially incorporated in 1930. The beautiful Dove Park offers visitors an excellent opportunity to relax and visit in a peaceful atmosphere. Enjoy a number of events all year long. Popular is the Community-Wide Garage Sale and Myrnam Fair and Fun Day – the kids will love it!

If you’re craving homemade cinnamon buns then C.J.’s Café is the place to stop at! Plus, a new convenience store has opened up in the Village to serve your needs.

Myrnam is located in the beautiful rolling hills of East Central Alberta and offers great views as you travel along Highway 45 or Highway 881. Numerous heritage churches can be found on casual drives throughout the area. Enjoy a round of golf at the Myrnam/Derwent Golf Club. Other recreational activities such as, curling, a famous annual slo-pitch tournament in June, soccer, and snowmobiling, are also great reasons to visit. Southwest of Myrnam you can stay at Jackfish Lake Campground or go north of Myrnam to Bear Ridge Campground situated along the North Saskatchewan River.
