Heisler Hotel & Big Willy's Bar

A little out of the way…A lot out of the ordinary

Heisler is located 23 km south of Daysland and 20 km north of Forestburg. It is the Premier Village of Alberta; so called because all of the streets and avenues are named after premiers of the Province of Alberta.

EAT SHOP STAY Drop into the mainstreet general store and be sure to come hungry to The Heisler Hotel Big Willy’s Bar. Enjoy the sports themed pub in the setting of a 1925 Municipal Heritage Hotel. Great food with fabulous reviews! Hours of operation: Tuesday to Thursday 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday 4 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. If you book a ticket on the Friends of the Battle River Railway Historic Heisler Hotel Excursion on June 24, you can enjoy a meal just like grandma used to make.

ATTRACTIONS & EVENTS  The Community Hall and Seniors Centre host a variety of leisure activities and there is sure to be one to suit every need. The Village of Heisler provides a wealth of recreational opportunities. Heisler has a four lane bowling alley, ball diamonds, basketball court, and a large playground. Notably, Heisler is home to Canada’s Largest Baseball Glove. There are 10 campground sites serviced with water, sewer and power available in the Village; and only fifteen minutes away is Big Knife Provincial Park where you can enjoy trails, fishing and camping.
