A statue of Angus Shaw, a late 1700s fur trader and explorer, stands guard at the Bonnyville & District Museum, where you can relive the adventures and witness the hardships of life in the fur trade. It also features the pioneering families of the area. Nearby, the Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre is a hub for recreation, fitness, events and entertainment.
Take in the action of the CPCA Chuckwagon Races, Gear Grabbers Classic Car Show, Pro Rodeo and taste the chili sensations at the Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce’s annual Chili Cook Off!
OUTDOORS Nearby Jessie Lake is home to hundreds of shore and songbirds (including Great Blue Herons, cranes, ducks and eagles). Viewing platforms and an interpretive trail enrich your experience. Swing your clubs at the Bonnyville Golf & Country Club. Camp across the road at the Vezeau Beach Lakeside Campground. The M.D. of Bonnyville offers a variety of camping experiences with campgrounds at Chicken Hill Lake, Moose Lake and Muriel Lake - all within 20 minutes of town, so bring your toys and enjoy some family fun.
In winter go ice fishing or snowmobile along Alberta's Iron Horse Trail or the Bonnyville Snowdusters snowmobile trails.

During the show, the lake acts like a mirror, creating an amazing display that should not be missed.
Each year on the August long weekend, the City of Cold Lake hosts Aqua Days at Kinosoo Beach. It's an event with plenty of activities for the whole family. November ramps up Christmas and holiday events so be sure to enjoy the activities while you get your gift shopping done.

How to get here? After you enter Cold Lake’s main shopping areas keep heading north on Highway 28. Go past the turn off to Highway 55 and follow Highway 28 all the way to Lakeshore Drive and Cold Lake Marina. Turn north on Lakeshore Drive to Picante Café and Waterfront Harbour Bed & Breakfast with awesome views of the lake. The Picante Café never disappoints!
