Sand Castle Campground, Edgerton
Open from May-September, this new facility is tucked away in a unique and quiet setting, making it ideal for any family vacation. 12 fully serviced sites are available, as well as two overflow sites and a dump station. Looking to stay a little longer at this friendly oasis? There’s no rush home! Long term rates are available, with washrooms and showers on site for your convenience. Did you know? The village of Edgerton was incorporated in 1917, making 2017 its 100th anniversary!
Elks/Kinsmen Park, Vegreville
Looking to take the family on a relaxing and scenic adventure just East of Edmonton? Then head over to the town of Vegreville, at Elks/Kinsmen Park. This beautiful park draws in visitors from across the province with its ideal fishing pond, beautiful fountain, picnic facilities and convenient camping sites (93 of them, to be exact!). Did we mention? This year-round park is home to the world’s largest Pysanka Easter Egg, making it a must-see stop for all ages.
Elk Island National Park
Rediscover the peace and beauty that lives within the prairies, at Elk Island National Park. Take a short, half an hour trip outside of Edmonton to discover various wildlife within the park. This is an important refuge for bison, elk, moose, white tailed deer, over 250 species of birds and a variety of other animals. Experience the importance of the environment and heritage of Canada with 80 km of trails, canoe rentals, camping sites, picnic areas, clear lakes, and beautiful starry skies. Throughout the rest of 2017, you’ll enjoy FREE gate admission to Elk Island National Park.
Located on the main highway that runs through Redwater, this campground is open from April 1- October 31, weather permitting. Enjoy family fun and relaxation at this community campground. A water and sani-dump station are available. If you’re looking for an extra splash of fun, the Redwater Swimming Pool is just a hop, skip and a jump north of the campground, making it the perfect spot for water-lovers of all ages.
Long Lake Provincial Park, Thorhild County
Enjoy family-fun all year long at this provincial park, with exciting activities available during the summer and winter seasons. Find your new favourite activity day after day, with unique experiences such as wind surfing, mountain biking, swimming, hiking, golfing and much more. Spend the day with nature, or make it an overnight adventure with camping amenities available within the park. Hanmore Lake, Smoky Lake County
Located in the Smoky Lake Region, there are a total of 53 un-serviced campsites available at this campground. Splash and play all day long at this shimmering lake, with recreational activities such as swimming, fishing, motor boating, water skiing, sailing and canoeing. Experience camping the way you remember it, with stories around the fire, family picnics and sleeping under the stars. Your outdoor adventure awaits, at Hanmore Lake.
Home to the Bruderheim Meteorite, (the largest recovered meteorite to fall in Canada) Bruderheim offers a campground that runs from the spring thaw to the fall freeze-up. Bruderheim is located 30 minutes northeast of Edmonton, within Alberta’s industrial heartland. Choose your camping experience, with 22 serviced campsites (16 with water, power and sewage and six with water and power) as well as un-serviced sites available. All sites are available on a first come first serve basis, as reservations are not available.
Tipi Camping - Elk Island Retreat
Escape into nature, with the secluded serenity of Elk Island Retreat’s Tipi camping. Experience a camping adventure like no other, as you relax, rest and reflect in the beautiful setting of this wooded camping area.
