Best Father's Day Ideas East of Edmonton

Father’s Day is just ahead – on June 18th – and we’ve got you covered for some great ideas on what to do, where to eat, and where to pick up a great gift for your dad.

Is your dad the type who prefers to have experiences rather than things? Then taking him to one of the fantastic events coming up on Father’s Day weekend might be just the thing to gift him for Father’s Day this year!  See the links for each event for details and schedules.  And don't forget that we've got details about all of the events happening east of Edmonton on our website events calendar.

June 16-17:  Vikings in the Street Festival - A weekend of family friendly Scandinavian inspired fun featuring a parade, chili cook-off contest, bed races, Explore the Viking, village storytellers, lutefisk eating contest, bouncy houses, axe throwing, petting zoo, country market, pancake breakfast, and more!

June 16-17:  Killam Indoor Rodeo - Check out the 46th event for great rodeo performances, daily breakfast, chili cook-off, a parade, street fair, show and shine, dance in the dirt and fireworks. 

June 16-18: Provost Kinsmen Splash & Smash – it’s rural Alberta’s largest motorsport and monster truck event, complete with a midway.  Don't forget to check out the Provost Museum Day happening on June 16th!

June 16-18: Dewberry CPCA Chuckwagon Races – A weekend of racing action, pancake breakfast and eventing dance on Saturday and beer gardens all weekend.

June 17: Ryley Summer Bust Out Festival – All day family fun with FREE pancake breakfast, parade, market, baseball, family events, dinner, dance, and fireworks.

June 17: Forestburg Mud Bog in the Burg – A top mud pit racing event of the region, featuring onsite camping, food concessions, and beer gardens.

June 17: Vegreville Drag Racing Series – Full of speed and excitement! Hosted at the Vegreville airport, limited bleacher seating is available (so bring a lawn chair), and a food truck will be onsite.

June 18: Vegreville Father’s Day Event – Featuring a demolition derby, show and shine, a tractors and lawnmowers race, antique snowmobile and tractors, and a big rig and semi show and shine – this is THE event to take dad to if he’s an automotive enthusiast.

For the dad who loves to golf, treat him to a round at the Whitetail Crossing Golf Course. All fathers will receive a $10 food and beverage token with a paid round of golf from June 16th to 19th.  Another awesome golfing deal for dad can be had at the Two Hills Lions Golf and Country Club on June 18th where dad will be treated to a 50% discount on a round of golf, as well as receive a complimentary gift!
