Description:

Marwayne is located just 10 minutes north of the Yellowhead TransCanada Highway, at the intersection of Highways 45 and 897. It is a community of 669 friendly people that are proud of its small-town atmosphere. Situated in a picturesque location, Marwayne guarantees a family-oriented, small-town lifestyle with city amenities nearby. Innovative in leadership, the oil & gas industry, and agri-business, it’s the perfect location to live, work and play.

ATTRACTIONS

You are invited to explore the newly revitalized downtown core. Stop by for a coffee, visit the local shops, or have a meal at one of the restaurants. Check out the Cargill grain elevator, the first concrete elevator built in Canada. Marwayne is proud of its volunteers and strong community-minded citizens, and aims to provide quality services to both residents and visitors. With a new hall and renovated arena and curling rink, community sporting events and dances have never looked better.

Stop and see the “Welcome Triangle” maintained completely by volunteers. The “heritage” shrub, located in the triangle, was brought over from England by one of the original settlers in 1902 and was donated to the village.

In April visit the indoor Professional Bull Riding event. In May look for treasures at the village’ Community-Wide Garage Sale. In June check out the Rodeo Street Dance and the Lea Park Professional Rodeo. Lea Park is the place to be in June for the Gospel Jamboree. In September find more treasure at another Community-Wide Garage Sale. The annual Light up Marwayne in December rounds out a year of events in Marwayne.
