Village of Chipman

Honour the Past, Live the Present, Create the Future

Nestled in Coyote Country just 45 minutes east of Edmonton on Highway 15, Chipman is one of Alberta's most affordable family communities. Comprising 2200 acres (14 quarter sections) of incorporated land, Chipman is known as the “biggest little Village in Alberta”. Chosen by Triland International/Chipman Development Corporation as the site for a long-term development project in 2008, a master plan for this community is being developed to guide Chipman to its future destination for years to come.

Plan to attend one of the hugely popular Chipman Players Dinner Theater performances, March 5, 12 and 19, at the Chipman National Hall. On June 5, don't miss the annual Show 'n' Shine event sponsored by the Chipman Car Crafters. This highly successful event features hundreds of vehicles every year, from vintage cars and trucks to tractors, buses and fire trucks. As an added feature, in conjunction with this event, the Chipman Historical Foundation provides a tasty perogy lunch. The second annual North of 16 Country Blues Festival takes place August 26-27, sponsored by the Chipman Agricultural Society and featuring a variety of renowned country and blues artists. For oldtime dancing, come out and show off your moves at the annual Lions Club Harvest Dance in late October.

The Chipman Golden Seniors offer delicious Ukrainian fare at their Perogy Suppers held on the last Friday of alternating months. The members of the Edmonton Soaring Club welcome and delight visitors all summer as their gliders float overhead after lifting off from the Chipman airstrip.
