ATTRACTIONS & EVENTSIn July, take in the Vermilion Agricultural Fair, one of the oldest and largest traditional fairs in Western Canada, celebrating their 111th Anniversary this year. Events include a parade, trade shows, animal judging, pony chuckwagon and chariot races, entertainment, and agricultural/horticultural displays. Popular Livestock Shows are light horse, beef, sheep, goat, poultry, and the Heavy Horse Show. Other popular events during the year include; Celebrate Canada Day at the Taste of Vermilion, Art in the Park in September, Savor Vermilion in November and Candy Cane Countdown in December.
Step back in time at the Vermilion Heritage Museum, which is located in an historic school with seven galleries, plus two display buildings.
OUTDOORSEnjoy the outdoors in Vermilion with trails, a spray park, mini golf, a nine hole golf club, soccer fields, trout pond and playgrounds. Camping at the Vermilion Provincial Park is also very popular. Once winter arrives, enjoy the cross-country ski trails where Beckie Scott – Canadian Olympic gold medalist, trained.
