Town of Killam

A Thriving, Vibrant Community in Flagstaff County

Killam is a thriving and vibrant town located within Flagstaff County, at the intersections of Highways 36 and 13 in east central Alberta. Killam is an exceptionally clean and quiet municipality with over 1,000 welcoming residents who are committed to their community. Killam offers traditional small town values with the comforts you would come to expect in larger centres.

Shop for bargains at the Town-Wide Garage Sale on May 5 & 6. Plan on attending the 46th annual Indoor Rodeo in June. Start your day with a hearty breakfast and end it with a night of dancing. Throughout the weekend take in the fair, parade, show and shine, and of course, lots of rodeo action. Come winter, the town puts on an amazing Parade of Lights and Christmas Craft Fair.

The Killam Agriplex boasts an indoor swimming pool, artificial ice arena, bowling alley, fitness room, multipurpose room and concession.

Be sure to check out Centennial Park for both winter and summer activities. Enjoy the playground or the sports grounds with four ball diamonds. Fully serviced spots at the Park Campground make extending your stay easy. Heritage Park offers a gazebo, nature trail, playground, horseshoe pits, along with a bike and a skateboard park for residents and visitors to enjoy. You’ll love the paved 2.5 km trail for walks or biking through town.

Enjoy shopping at Budding Ideas Flowers and Gifts as well as at Town and Country Drugs. Stop for a bite to eat at Jam Tarts Café. Plan to stay at the Killam Krossing Hotel – with a Smitty's Restaurant conveniently located on site – or at the renovated Wagon Wheel Motel. With all of the retail necessities, plus some unique shops, cafes, and accommodations, Killam makes for a great place to visit.
