Description:The Town of Daysland is located 32 km southeast of Camrose on Highway 13. Daysland has a wide variety of services and businesses for all your needs. Home to over 800 residents, it serves as the education, medical, and shopping center for a large mixed farming district. Daysland is a beautiful small town with many enjoyable opportunities for family and friends. Quiet streets are lined with stately trees and there are many parks and open space areas to enjoy.
DID YOU KNOW?Daysland was named after Edgerton W. Day who purchased the land for the community from the CPR - Canadian Pacific Railroad in 1904. He became the first mayor of the community in 1905. With over 100 volunteers, the Town of Daysland has many groups dedicated on a volunteer basis to enriching the community with a variety of cultural activities.
ATTRACTIONSDaysland's cultural life is one of the major attractions for residents and visitors. Their facilities for hosting cultural events include the Palace Theatre, the Senior Drop-In Centre, Community Hall, Daysland School, and the Public Library. One of the attractions and historic landmarks is the Palace Theatre, built in 1952 and located on main street. The town is very proud of the resurrection of the historic Palace Theatre which is now providing weekly and monthly entertainment in cinema, theatre, musicals, and visual art. Daysland is kid-friendly – there is a K-12 school, youth centre, sports teams including hockey and baseball, the theatre which offers kids movies, as well as other fun youth programs.
OUTDOORSRecreational facilities include a beautiful nine-hole golf course. The course is truly a hidden gem in east central Alberta. A new island green was built in 2014, which provides a challenge for golfers of all levels of experience. The course also has a licensed clubhouse, restaurant and campsites with hook-ups available. Other recreational activities include the “Crocus Trail” walking path, arena and curling rinks with artificial ice, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, playgrounds and ball diamonds.
