Go Golfing east of Edmonton!

August continues to be a prime month for Albertans to explore their surroundings and most importantly, work in a round or two - there's no better time than right now. Here’s an offering of some of the best golf courses East of Edmonton.

Redwater Golf Club

Only a half hour away, the Redwater Golf Club boasts fantastic greens and a fully licensed clubhouse to help create a great golf experience. Its proximity to the city alongside a number of accommodation spots such as hotels and campsites along with the fact that it’s nine-hole course makes this course ideal for hosting tournaments.

Vegreville Kinsmen Golf Club

This Vegreville golf course is a pretty sight, with over 3370 yards of nine-hole action. It’s no cakewalk however; there’s some difficult fairways and water hazards that’ll threaten to wreck your game if you’re not too careful.

Elk Island Golf Course

One of the oldest courses in Alberta, designed by Stanley Thompson himself. It’s a picturesque sight, tucked away in the trees of Elk Island National Park boasting expansive fairways in a tight nine-hole course. The Elk Island Golf Course features a clubhouse (complete with air conditioning!) that offers the only meal service in Elk Island, making this a rare sight in the huge wilderness of Elk Island National Park.

Broadmoor Golf Course

Described as Strathcona’s most spectacular course, the 18-hole Broadmoor Golf Course is a worthy challenge for all golfers. With newly renovated greens and a licenced clubhouse, this resort is great venue.

Northern Ridge Golf & RV Resort

Being located in Boyle is one reason why Northern Ridge is such a pretty sight - nothing but farmland for miles. It helps that this is the only golf course on the list that features over 50 camping sites, making it absolutely perfect for a weekend away from the city.

Fort Saskatchewan Golf & Curling Club

One of Alberta’s toughest nine-hole courses, this club is not one for the faint of heart. Featuring a huge array of hazards like a wandering creek and a small pond in the center of the 8th fairway, expect to be throwing away a ton of shots if you’re not prepared.
