Campgrounds along Highway 12
Village of Halkirk
Welcome to Halkirk this summer. Take advantage of peaceful quiet camping at Halkirk Rodeo Grounds campsite. If you need hookups, Berry Street Campground offers full services. Children will have fun in the newly renovated playground. Halkirk’s historic buildings offer a glimpse to the past. Visit the beautifully restored 100 year old Halkirk Hotel. Check out the Halkirk Store and browse the aisles. Take in spectacular scenery, from Prairie vistas, to the scenic Paintearth Badlands, to the giant wind turbines that rise on Halkirk’s skyline. Halkirk Berry Street Campground: 8 full serviced campsites, right beside the Community Hall. Adjacent to an excellent playground with park & picnic area.
Halkirk Rodeo Grounds Campsite: No services. Quiet. Large grassy areas, trees, fire rings, picnic tables, water, trailer dump. Just pick your spot. Ideal for family gatherings. Enclosed shelter available for rent. Contact Village Office at 403-884-2462.
Town of Castor
Summer time in the Town of Castor offers a variety of activities; our pool is open from dusk till dawn – you can take a dip with an early bird swim, have some fun during family swim, or get a workout in with an aquafit or water running class in the evening. Our 9 hole golf course is immaculately maintained and has a serviced campground for total convenience. A tributary of breathtaking ponds are joined by pathways to enjoy a leisurely stroll. Spend an afternoon boating along the Castor Creek amidst the stunning sandstone cliffs or just relax at the quiet beach area. For the town website click here.
Castor RV: The RV Campground has hook ups and is located at our 9 hole golf course and ball diamonds. There are showers available.
Castor Lions Campground: The Lion’s campground does not have hook ups but is well treed and has a camp kitchen and individual fire pits. Both are conveniently located along highway 12.
Town of Coronation
Visit and explore the town of Coronation. Stay at the Coronation Recreation Park Campground which offers full and partially serviced sites, a shower house, a camp kitchen and a stocked trout pond. Take a downtown walking tour of historical murals, parks, historical artifacts and floral displays. Kick back and relax in one of the downtown parks or play 9 holes of golf at the Coronation Community Golf Club, then take a dip in the Town of Coronation Outdoor Swimming Pool. Coronation Recreation Park Campground: We've installed a new waterfall feature to improve the water quality for the fish, and to enhance the beauty of our Campground. 6,000 pike and trout stocked annually. We are also currently developing 9 new fully serviced camping stalls this season, which will bring our total available partially and fully serviced camping sites to 50! The Coronation Recreation Park will also be offering free WiFi in 2018.
Campgrounds North of Highway 12 up to Highway 13
There is nothing so beautiful as the Flagstaff Region! Take pleasure in fishing, hiking, boating or camping at Edgerton Day Campground, Fish Lake Park or Diplomat Trout Pond. Experience our history at Canada’s only surface coal mining museum – The Diplomat Mine Interpretive Site – or, take in a day on the links at one of four beautiful golf courses.

Diplomat Trout Pond: The Trout Pond is home to many wildlife and plant species and can be seen from the nature trail or lakeside gazebo. The Diplomat Trout Pond is stocked with Rainbow Trout on a yearly basis. Across Highway 855 is the Diplomat Interpretive Site which has a variety of old machinery used in coal mining during the 1920’s.
Galahad Municipal Grounds: This area is great for family functions such as reunions. It offers many great amenities such as, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, showers and washrooms and best of all a very large enclosed gazebo with fire pit inside to keep the fun going even in the rain.
Strome Campground: The Strome Campground is located within town limits and only steps from the baseball diamonds, playground, and community center. Hide yourself away behind the trees and forget you are in town.
Fish Lake Park: Fish Lake Park is great for a getaway while still being close to the town of Hardisty. The campground has a couple large group sites and many activities for the family including basketball hoops, playground, beach area and a golf course nearby. Not only is it great for the kids but for adults as you can relax in the gazebo and watch your children play.
Village of Forestburg
Village of Forestburg is located approximately 80 km southeast of Camrose, at the junction of Highway 53 and SR 856.
The Kinsmen RV Park is nestled in the trees and offers services such as shower house, playground, and fire pits. A variety of sites are available including those with 30-amp power, power only and an overflow camping area that is un-serviced and all sites are on a first come basis. The Kinsmen RV Park is just two blocks from the downtown core and only 4 blocks from the public swimming pool, tennis courts, and playgrounds. You are sure to enjoy your stay in Forestburg.
Forestburg RV Park: The Forestburg Kinsmen RV Park is adjacent to the Forestburg Riding Arena. Many events are held in the Riding Arena year round and this provides camping space for the arena. Come and stay while you are horsing around.

Village of Alliance
Come see the beautiful country side that East Central Alberta has to offer! Visit and explore the Village of Alliance. Settle in at the Village of Alliance Campground and then check out a collection of over 1,000 dolls featured at the Alliance Museum…, then enjoy the scenic views of Nature’s Way walking trail that circles the village. Stop in at Main Street Medley and bring back unique giftware and much more. Town of Killiam
Killam is a thriving, vibrant town located within Flagstaff County, at the intersections of Highways 36 and 13 in central Albert with amenities including a hospital, public school, RCMP office and a strong retail sector. We have excellent recreation facilities, including ice arena, indoor swimming pool and hot tub, parks, walking trails, a baseball park, fitness centre, indoor playground and much more!
The Killam Centennial Park is a relaxing campground on a first come basis with power and water hook-ups with two water taps available, free fire wood (when available), washrooms and shower rooms available located along a small creek where you can observe natures best.
County of Paintearth
Set up camp at Burma Park next to the Battle River where they have partial services with showers on site, camp kitchens, ball diamonds and playgrounds or Huber Dam with power to all sites, camp kitchen, playground and fishing. Both campgrounds offer free firewood. The County of Paintearth has much to offer for a weekend getaway like sightseeing, golf, swimming, camping, rodeos and fishing. Plus Badlands, and Earth-Painted Cliffs surround lovely creeks just waiting for you. It might even be a place to put down roots. For the County website click here.
Huber Dam Campground: Huber Dam is located 10 minutes east of Castor. There are 25 stalls, with group camping available. It has a camp kitchen as well as a playground. There are campfire pits with complimentary firewood. And you can even go fishing.
Burma Park: Burma park is next to the Battle River, it has partial services, with showers on site. Burma park also has a camp kitchen, ball diamonds and beautiful new playgrounds. There are 21 campsite, 17 of which have power. There is also group camping available. Burma Park has campfire pits and also offers free firewood. For information or bookings, call 403.578.4040

Village of Edgerton
Welcome to Edgerton, the Friendly Oasis! We invite you to come for an adventure just south of highway 14 and explore all our community has to offer. Edgerton’s annual Sports Days and Bullarama takes place July 6, 7, 8. We also encourage everyone to check out the award-winning and homegrown Ribstone Creek Brewery conveniently located just a few steps from the fully serviced Sand Castle Campground.

Edgerton Sand Castle Campground: 12 sites, power, water, dumping station, burn pits. Features a large sand playground/sand castle. Conveniently located just a few steps from the award-winning Ribstone Creek Brewery! Within walking distance of the Edgerton Sports Grounds, home to the annual Sports Days, Bullarama, and Fair (July 6,7,8).
Edgerton Day Campground: The Edgerton Day Campground is great for family functions. With large group camping it makes any family reunion easy. The campground has a great playground plus lots of area for the kids to run and play.
Village of Holden
Come and see the beautiful country side that East Alberta has to offer. Visit and explore the Village of Holden. Come to the Annual Legion Pig Roast, Aug 12. Stay at the Holden Campground - no reservations needed. Treed, peaceful and professionally maintained. With picnic shelter, fire pits; and great location close to the ball diamonds, playground and spray park. Visit The Gallery and the Holden Museum located in historic buildings just off Main Street.
