A statue of Angus Shaw, a late 1700s fur trader and explorer, stands guard at the Bonnyville & District Museum, where you can relive the adventures and witness the hardships of life in the fur trade. It also features the pioneering families of the area. Nearby, the Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre is a hub for recreation, fitness, events and entertainment.
June 8-10 take in the action of the CPCA Chuckwagon Races. Enjoy the 7th Annual Gear Grabbers Classic Car Show July 14. On July 27-29, enjoy the Pro Rodeo and taste the chili sensations at the Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce’s annual Chili Cook Off on July 27! ‘It's all about mud and music’ in Bonnyville on August 23-26 with the four-day Extreme Mudfest a mix of mud-racing and music. Confirmed performers include Theory of a Deadman and Terri Clark.
OUTDOORS Nearby Jessie Lake is home to hundreds of shore and songbirds (including Great Blue Herons, cranes, ducks and eagles). Viewing platforms and an interpretive trail enrich your experience. Cold Lake - The Biggest Military Air Show in Canada!
The countdown is on for the Full Throttle Festival on Friday, July 20 that will showcase family activities, live entertainment, a fly past and beer gardens. It will be the preview to the biggest military air show in Canada on Saturday, July 21 and Sunday, July 22. The air show is featuring a salute to the 60th Anniversary of NORAD. The world famous Snowbirds will headline the show along with the SkyHawks parachute team. There will be a CF 18 demonstration team, and the USAF F-22 will be joined by outstanding Canadian Armed Forces displays. It is the best lineup the air show has ever had; you won’t want to miss it!

How to get here? After you enter Cold Lake’s main shopping areas keep heading north on Highway 28. Go past the turn off to Highway 55 and follow Highway 28 all the way to Lakeshore Drive and Cold Lake Marina.
