Sips, Suds & Soups

Try some local pints of interest from the Norsemen Brewing Co. Located in Camrose, the brewery has two flagship beers, Longship and Eric the Red, as well as a constantly rotating third, using the freshest ingredients and Alberta barley. Their beers are currently only available at the Norsemen Inn when dining or enjoy it in the Tap Room Lounge & Bar. Growlers are available for off sales and kegs are available for outside events.

Satisfy your taste buds with the award winning Ribstone Creek Lager brewed in Edgerton. The brewery now has five varieties with their Lager, India Pale Ale and Porter which are now available in cans at many liquor stores across Alberta. Sip some local fruit wines at Birds & Bees Winery by Brosseau (near Two Hills) and at the Barr Estate Winery in Strathcona County.

Savour a smoothie at Shiftt 360, a Healthy Café in Smoky Lake. Real fruit smoothies, iced coffee, and chive tea are very popular. For some healthy options try the veggie wraps, spinach and quinoa salad, and the homemade gluten free cookies.

Bow to the Borshch at BBUF! Sample some of the best Ukrainian food during the annual Babas & Borshch Ukrainian Festival (BBUF) in Andrew, or check out the ever popular Ukrainian Pysanka Festival in Vegreville. For more Ukrainian food, a must stop is at the renowned Stawnichy’s Meat Processing for Mundare Sausage, and further down the road is the tasty Prime Cut’s Vegreville Sausage.
